Williams Lake RCMP responded to 271 calls for service from July 3 to July 10, 2025. Williams Lake first responders responded to various calls including assaults, impaired driving, and mental health apprehensions. Here are a few highlights of the week:

July 3, 2025

  • Police attended the area of 2 Ave N and Boundary St. where they aided a person in distress. The situation was safely resolved with assistance from our partners at Interior Health.
  • A man was located on Roberts Dr. peering into various houses. Williams Lake members located the male who had outstanding warrants and was arrested.
  • Members attended Boitanio park and dumped out alcoholic beverage containers. One individual was arrested and released when they were safe to care for themselves.
  • Police attended the Cariboo Memorial Hospital to assist with an assaultive patient due to a mental health episode. No charges requested due to the mental health crisis.

July 4, 2025

  • A truck and RV trailer were stolen from a parking lot on 4 Ave N and later recovered that same day. Investigation ongoing.
  • One female was arrested on an unendorsed warrant, the female was held for court.
  • A male was cut off from alcohol sales at a local business which led to the male swearing, yelling, and spitting. Williams Lake RCMP attended and arrested the male.
  • A male was arrested who was found to have an endorsed warrant for their arrest.
  • Another male was located who had an unendorsed warrant and was arrested then held for court.

July 5, 2025

  • A male was located causing a disturbance in front of a local business. The man was arrested and held in custody until they were safe to care for themselves.
  • Police attended a structure fire on Ferguson Rd. The carport shelter on the property had burned before the fire department extinguished the flames. Police do not suspect any criminality to the incident.
  • Williams Lake RCMP members initiated a traffic stop near Hwy 20 and Dog Creek Rd. during the interaction grounds were formed to arrest a female driver for possession of a controlled substance. A search incidental to arrest led to illegal cigarettes, 5.4 grams of suspected crystal meth, and just under 11,000 CAD seized from the driver. Investigation is still ongoing and no further updates will be provided.

July 6, 2025

  • While on a proactive patrol, a Williams Lake RCMP member located a female who was intoxicated and consuming open liquor in the park. The female was arrested and held in custody until it was safe for her to care for herself.

July 7, 2025

  • Two separate individuals were apprehended under the Mental Health Act and brought to the hospital for further assessment.

July 8, 2025

  • A male was reported missing by his spouse who was later found without issue.

July 9, 2025

  • No files of note this date.

July 10, 2025

  • A male was causing a disturbance, threatening, and intoxicated outside a local agency. The male was arrested and held until safe to care for himself.
  • A female attended the RCMP detachment with concerns for the state of her mental health. The female was brought to hospital for further assessment.
  • A male was located in Boitanio Park with an outstanding unendorsed warrant. The male was arrested and held in cells for court.
  • While on proactive patrol, members located two individuals grossly intoxicated in Boitanio Park. The individuals were both arrested and held in cells until safe to care for themselves.
