Proactive patrols lead to drug seizure

On Thursday, September 25, Williams Lake RCMP conducting proactive patrols in the city, police stopped a vehicle for a motor vehicle act infraction.
The driver and passenger were identified and police learned that the passenger was on conditions from a previous release order not to possess weapons. Police noticed a pocketknife clipped to her pants. She was arrested for breach of conditions.
During the search incidental to the arrest, police located approximately 40,1-gram prepackaged tinfoil zips of suspected crack cocaine, a container with 4 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 5 grams of suspected fentanyl, 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, $700 in cash, 3 knives and a carton of illicit cigarettes.
The driver was released on scene for the driving infraction, and the passenger was later released on an appearance notice for the breach. The investigation into drug trafficking is ongoing.
