Training Tuesdays: Court room

Facilitators and cadets all play roles in the court room.

To prepare for the field, cadets practice a wide variety of scenarios. Each week cadets apply new skills they have learned in training to their scenarios. The skills are not just for what happens during a call for service, but understanding the whole process, including legal proceedings. Cadets learn about the roles of key participants in the court process and learn what happens in court and at trial.

To apply these skills, cadets take part in court scenarios. Facilitators and cadets all play roles in the court room. A cadet takes the stand and is questioned on any one of the cases they have worked on throughout training. Here they present facts and evidence in a case to the Court. This is a good culmination scenario that demonstrates how important observations and activities noted during calls support investigations and corroborate evidence.
