On behalf of the Calgary Police Service:

To our media partners,

We are asking all broadcast outlets to increase public awareness around traffic impacts in and around the Calgary International Airport in the days leading up to and including the G7.

In particular, please advise travellers who may be accessing the airport between Sunday, June 15, and Wednesday, June 18, to plan extra travel time.

The tunnel on Airport Trail N.E. will be closed beginning on 1 a.m., Sunday, June 15, 2025, through to Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to ensure the safe arrival & departure of G7 delegates & world leaders.

Travellers heading to the airport from the east side of Calgary should use Country Hills Boulevard N.E., to Barlow Trail N.E., as an alternative route.

Airport Trail N.E. will remain open from Deerfoot Trail N.E., to Barlow Trail N.E. - only the tunnel itself will be inaccessible. Additionally, the off-ramp from 19 Street N.E., to westbound Airport Trail N.E., will also be closed during this period.

In addition, no stopping or parking around the perimeter of the airport property will be permitted between Saturday, June 14 & Wednesday, June 18. And the north end of McCall Way will be restricted to employee and business traffic only, with a security checkpoint in effect.

Other temporary closures or stoppages may be in effect as delegates are moved out of or into the airport through rolling motorcades. We ask all motorists to please abide by officer directions.
