Gimli RCMP investigating shots fired at vehicle

On January 22, 2025, at approximately 12:30 am, Gimli RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the community of Riverton.
Officers responded immediately and while en route, learned that a victim had left the scene and was headed towards Gimli. Officers met up with him on Highway 8.
The 27-year-old male driver, from the RM of Bifrost, and his 22-year-old female passenger, from Riverton, were both uninjured.
The victim reported being parked outside the hockey arena in Riverton when the suspect approached and discharged a firearm, striking both the driver’s side and rear windows.
The 30-year-old male suspect, from Riverton, who was known to both individuals in the truck, then fled the scene. He was later arrested at a residence, located south of Riverton, without incident.
Through the initial investigation, officers determined that the passenger, Erika Reydal, 22, originally seated with the victim, was also involved in this shooting and, as a result of this information obtained, was arrested. Both Reydal, and Bradley Hokanson, 30, were remanded into custody, and subsequently released for a future court date, on the following charges:
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Pointing a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Mischief over $5,000 – Damage to Motor Vehicle
- Disguised with Intent to Commit Offence
Gimli RCMP continue to investigate.
