Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic Unit arrest four after firearms discovered in vehicle

On January 27, 2025, at approximately 5:00 pm, officers from the Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic unit conducted a traffic stop on Highway 6, 75 km north of Grand Rapids.

 

An SUV with four occupants, 3 males and 1 female, was travelling southbound at a high rate of speed on Highway 6 when it was pulled over.

 

The investigation led officers to search the vehicle where they located a Glock 27, .40 caliber hand gun, and a loaded Glock 9 mm magazine.

All occupants of the vehicle were arrested for Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.

 

One of the rear seat occupants, a 17-year-old male was pending Weapons Trafficking charges and was remanded. 

 

Dustin Thorsteinson, 37, Curtis Richard, 28, and Lucy Courchene, 18, all of Winnipeg were released for a later court date in Grand Rapids.

 

The investigation continues.
