Fisher Branch RCMP investigation into drug trafficking leads to arrests

On March 22, 2025, as a result of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of drugs within Peguis First Nation, Fisher Branch RCMP, along with assistance from multiple RCMP support units and Peguis First Nation Safety Officers, executed three search warrants at residences located in the community. 

The search of the properties led to the seizure of a large sum of cash, several firearms, a handgun, ammunition, cannabis, and other drug-related paraphernalia. 

RCMP arrested two males, ages of 27 and 26, both from Peguis First Nation, and later released them for a court appearance scheduled for August 5, 2025, in the community, where they will face a number of charges including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Unsafe Storage of Firearms as well as additional charges under the Cannabis Act.

Fisher Branch RCMP continue to investigate.
