Update - Manitoba RCMP Cyber & Financial Crime Unit make major fraud arrest

After releasing information on the arrest of Kurt Wittin in November of last year, Manitoba RCMP Cyber & Financial Crime Unit (CFCU) had encouraged other possible victims of Fraud to come forward.

Since that time, numerous new victims have made reports to the RCMP.

On March 3, 2025, Manitoba RCMP Cyber & Financial Crime Unit arrested and charged Witten with an additional eleven counts of Fraud over $5,000, bringing the total number of identified victims to 20.

With these additional charges, the financial losses suffered by the victims totals over $700,000 dollars Canadian.

If you are a victim and wish to report it, the RCMP encourages people to contact their local RCMP detachment to provide an initial report.

Manitoba RCMP Cyber & Financial Crime Unit make major fraud arrest

On November 5, 2024, after an initial investigation by Headingley RCMP detachment, Manitoba RCMP Cyber & Financial Crime Unit arrested and charged 50-year-old Kurt Wittin.

Since 2023, Wittin, has been under investigation after numerous fraud complaints were made involving his company, Seventeen Pools Inc.  In each instance, customers sent payment for products that were never received. 

The victims in these incidents are from across Canada and the United States. 

Wittin was charged with nine counts of Fraud Greater Than $5,000 and was released from custody with conditions, along with a future court date.

The Manitoba RCMP Cyber & Financial Crime Unit are aware there may be other victims or individuals with information concerning this matter, that have not yet spoken with police.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Wittin or his companies: Seventeen Pools Inc., Seventeen Pools, 204 Container Pools and Kustom Container Builders, are encouraged to contact their local RCMP detachment to provide an initial report.
