Thompson RCMP looking for suspect in arson investigation

On May 3, 2025, at approximately 4:45 pm, Thompson RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire at an abandoned apartment complex located on Princeton Drive in Thompson.
Upon arrival, officers observed extensive smoke emanating from the building.
Within a short period of time, firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze which had been contained to several apartment units on the main level.
With assistance of a fire investigator, the preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be incendiary.
The investigation has uncovered that a male youth was seen running away from the scene shortly before the fire started. He’s described as being 4’11’’ and wearing brown pants, a black hoodie and a black hat.
