Selkirk RCMP respond to a stabbing

On May 30, 2025, at 11:30 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing outside a local business on Main Street in Selkirk.
Officers and Emergency Medical Services attended immediately, and when they arrived discovered two males that were involved in a physical altercation and had been stabbed by a machete.
The victims, a 31year-old male from Selkirk and a 29-year-old from Winnipeg, were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation led officers to identify the two male suspects who were immediately arrested without incident.
Garrett Brass, 23, from Selkirk, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault x2. He has been remanded in custody.
A 28-year-old male from Selkirk was arrested for Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2 and was released from custody on a pending court date.
Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
