Thompson RCMP investigating Aggravated Assault

On June 24, 2025, at 4:40 am, Thompson RCMP responded to a report of an assault where a 15-year-old male had been attacked by a large group of males, many of them carrying machetes, in an open area off of Duke Place in the City of Thompson.
The victim had been taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers attended to the area and located the scene of where the assault occurred.
Further investigation into this assault led to the arrest of three males, two of them youths (17,16) and an 18-year-old.
The 18-year-old, Zane Mercredi of Thompson, was charged with Aggravated Assault and remanded into custody. The two youths were released from custody for a future court date scheduled in Thompson.
Thompson RCMP continue to investigate as further arrests are anticipated.
