Thompson Rural RCMP arrest two males from diverted flight

On July 7, 2025, at 3:35 pm, Thompson Rural RCMP received a report from the Thompson Airport that a flight, which had originated earlier from Thompson and was enroute to Tadoule Lake, was turning around and returning back to Thompson as two individuals were fighting on board the aircraft.
The plane was met by officers who were briefed on the actions of the two passengers who were reported to be combative and causing a risk to the safety of the aircraft.
The officers boarded the plane and met with a 29-year-old male, from Thompson, and a 27-year-old male, from Tadoule Lake, who were arrested without incident.
Upon search of the 29-year-old, officers located a small quantity of a drug believed to be crack cocaine.
RCMP have charged 27-year-old Trayvon Mowatt with Endangering the safety of an aircraft, Assault causing bodily harm and Uttering threats. He was remanded into custody.
The 29-year-old was released on an Undertaking for a future court appearance in Thompson where he will appear on charges of Endangering the safety of an aircraft and Possession of a controlled substance.
Thompson Rural RCMP continue to investigate.
