Update 2 - Yellowhead RCMP respond to fatal shooting

On August 11, 2025, Frank La Forge turned himself in to RCMP in Winnipeg and was arrested on the following charges:

  • First degree murder
  • Attempted murder

La Forge is currently remanded in custody.

Update - Yellowhead RCMP respond to fatal shooting

As a result of the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old female in Keeseekoowenin First Nation, Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services has identified a suspect.

Frank La Forge, 52, from Keeseekoowenin, is Wanted on the following charges:

  • First degree murder
  • Attempted murder

La Forge is described as 5’8” tall, approximately 150 lbs., brown eyes with a bald head. The suspect should not be approached, and if seen people are asked to call 9-1-1. Police believe he is in the Yellowhead area of Manitoba and has connections to the Kamsack and Yorkton area of Saskatchewan.

Yellowhead RCMP and Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services continue to investigate to determine other suspects.

July 28, 2025

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 2:45 am, Yellowhead RCMP were dispatched to a report of a possible shooting at a residence on Keeseekoowenin First Nation.

When officers arrived on scene, they located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers along with Emergency Medical Services performed CPR on a 33-year-old female that was suffering from a serious injury. She was pronounced deceased on scene.

A 26-year-old male was also treated at the scene, then transported via STARS to hospital in serious condition but has since been released.

Officers have deemed the incident to be targeted, and there is no danger or threat to the public.
