On September 6, 2025, at approximately 9:00pm, Dauphin RCMP were dispatched to a hit and run on Buchanan Avenue.

Officers immediately responded and learned a vehicle struck a 43-year-old male pedestrian and then fled the scene.

EMS transported the victim to hospital in Dauphin. The victim was then transported to a Winnipeg hospital via STARS, where he remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the collision, RCMP identified the driver as a 20-year-old female from the RM of Gilbert Plains. The female was arrested and taken to the detachment where she provided a breath sample which was nearly three times the legal limit.

The driver was later released from custody with charges pending.

The involved vehicle has been seized by police and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist attended to examine the scene.

Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
