The five-year investigation into the disappearance and subsequent homicide of 40-year-old Melinda Lynxleg by Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services, with assistance from Roblin, Russell, and Dauphin RCMP detachments has resulted in the arrest of three males.
Lynxleg, from Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve, was reported missing by her sister on April 16, 2020. Melinda’s body was later located on June 7, 2023, at an abandoned property in San Clara, Manitoba.
Between October 14, 2025, and October 16, 2025, Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services arrested three individuals, all known to Melinda, at their residences without incident:
- Kirk Kenneth Allarie, 42, from Roblin
- Myles Malcolm Allarie, 38, from Russell
- Billy Jay Lynxleg, 46, from Valley River First Nation
All men have been remanded and charged with the following:
- Second degree murder
- Offer indignity to human remains
They will remain in custody until a future court date.
RCMP Major Crime Services would like to thank community members and numerous others who came forward with information that was valuable to the investigation.
Over 150 statements were taken by police throughout the investigation who logged thousands of hours going through evidence to finally make some arrests.
“The last five years has been very tough for our family, it’s been a nightmare,” said Sharon Lynxleg, Melinda’s mother. “These arrests will not bring Melinda back, but it goes a long way towards helping us heal. We are grateful the RCMP continued to look for the persons responsible for her death and brought them to justice.”
“We want to thank Melinda’s family for not giving up hope, and for continuing to work with us to find answers,” said Assistant Commissioner Scott McMurchy, Commanding Officer of the Manitoba RCMP. “I also want to thank the community members of Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve; their collaboration with our officers provided us with the help we needed to move the investigation forward. By all working together, we have helped to bring some justice for Melinda.”
