               On October 20, 2025, at 12:15 pm, Gimli RCMP received a report of a stolen white Ford F250 from a property on Highway 9 in the RM of Gimli.
Upon arrival, officers located an abandoned vehicle on the property, which had been previously reported stolen earlier the same morning from a residence on Britannia Close in Selkirk.
Throughout the day, multiple sightings of the stolen Ford F250 were reported to police. Reports indicated that the pick-up truck was seen causing mischief to properties and driving dangerously in the Interlake area.
At 5:00 pm, the Ford F250 was abandoned on a property on Elderberry Bay in Fisher Branch where the suspect stole a GMC Sierra.
At 6:00 pm, Gimli RCMP received a report of a stolen Ford F150 that had just occurred, and the stolen GMC Sierra was abandoned on the property.
Officers were able to locate the Ford F150 in the RM of Rockwood however the driver failed to stop.
At 8:37 pm, Stonewall RCMP were notified of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Road 87N in the RM of Rockwood.
RCMP officers from Stonewall and Selkirk, along with Police Dog Services, responded immediately.
Upon arrival, they were advised that an unknown male had tried to enter the residence by kicking-in the back door. The homeowners were present and discharged a firearm towards the suspect.
The suspect fled and attempted to get into vehicles located on the property but was unsuccessful and then left on foot.
Officers patrolled the area and located the stolen Ford F150, with significant damage, near the residence where the break and enter occurred.
Police Service Dog Stewie and a drone were able to quickly track the suspect and located the male hiding along a brush line at a neighbouring property. He was arrested without incident.
James Rundle-Hobden, 27-year-old male from Selkirk, has been remanded in custody. No injuries were reported.
He has been charged with:
- Theft of motor vehicle x 2
- Possession of property obtained by crime x 3
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance x 2
- Failure to stop after accident
- Mischief
- Flight from police
- Break and enter with intent
- Fail to comply with release order
Stonewall, Selkirk, Fisher Branch and Gimli RCMP continue to investigate all aspects of the incidents reported.
