Berens River RCMP respond to fatal structure fire

On November 15, 2025, at 1:56 am, Berens River RCMP received a report of a structure fire at a residence on Main Street North in Berens River First Nation.
RCMP, along with members of the local fire department, attended the scene.
Once the fire was brought under control and extinguished, RCMP examined the burned structure and located the remains of a deceased individual within the residence.
The cause of the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature.
Berens River RCMP, along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
