On November 21, 2025, at 10:24 pm, Powerview RCMP received two reports of a male in the communities of Powerview-Pine Falls carrying a long gun. The male was first seen at a business on Pine Street in Pine Falls and then on Betty Street, in Powerview. It was believed that the male was with another male, driving an ATV.

Powerview RCMP responded immediately and located the ATV, with the two occupants matching the description provided by the witnesses, on Art Avenue in Pine Falls. At approximately 10:36 pm, Police attempted a traffic stop, but the ATV fled from Police.

After a short pursuit, the ATV drove into the ditch and got stuck on North Shore Road near Fort Alexander.  A 22-year-old male ran into the bush and then surrendered shortly after, while a 25-year-old male complied with officers. The two males were immediately taken in custody without further incident.

During a search of the area, officers located two rifles in the nearby bush where the one male had fled. One of the firearms was loaded and had its serial number removed. The other firearm was a prohibited semi-automatic rifle, unloaded.

Further investigation revealed that it was the 25-year-old male that was seen at the business earlier and had threatened an ex-partner with the firearm by attending her residence. The ex-partner was not home at the time, but the incident was captured on a surveillance camera.
