Gypsumville RCMP searching for wanted 29-year-old male

On November 24, 2025, at 1:35 pm, Gypsumville RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement in Pinaymootang First Nation when they observed a black Dodge Grand Caravan travelling on New Road South.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled behind a residence nearby where they observed two males and one female running away, tossing a backpack as they ran. A search of the backpack uncovered a loaded sawed-off firearm along with two large cans of bear mace.

Inside the vehicle was a 41-year-old male seated in a wheelchair along with another male’s identification. Further investigation revealed that the van had been reported stolen the day before and that the driver had been identified as 29-year-old Hayden Stagg, from Pinaymootang First Nation. The identity of the two other occupants that fled the scene remains unknown.

Hayden Stagg, 29, has not been located and is now wanted for the following offences:

  • Flight from police
  • Possession of prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorised
  • Possession of firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose x 2
  • Unauthorised possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Possession of weapon contrary to order

Gypsumville RCMP are requesting assistance from the public in locating Hayden Stagg. If seen, please do not approach as he may be armed, call 911 immediately.
