On January 12, 2026, at 3:40 am, Thompson RCMP received a report of a break and enter, with the use of a vehicle, to a business located on Selkirk Avenue in Thompson.

Officers responded immediately and found the storefront window had been completely smashed out with broken glass noted throughout the building.

A review of surveillance camera footage showed a pickup truck, with an Ontario license plate, ramming the storefront window. Items were stolen and the suspects fled the scene in the vehicle.

A patrol made in the area located the suspect vehicle, with two occupants, driving down Mystery Lake Road where a traffic stop was subsequently conducted in a back lane located behind a residence on Brandon Crescent. The pickup truck was later confirmed to have been stolen.

The two occupants, which turned out to be two male youths, one 13-years-of-age, the other 11, were arrested without incident.

The 11-year-old was later released without charge to a family member whereas the 13-year-old remains in police custody.

Thompson RCMP, along with RCMP Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
