On March 24, shortly after 11 p.m., Dauphin RCMP responded to a report that a pedestrian had been intentionally hit multiple times by a vehicle.

The incident occurred on the 100-block of Main Street. At the scene, officers learned the female driver of the vehicle, who knew the male victim, had clipped the victim with her vehicle, then hit him again when he got up and attempted to run away.

She then exited the vehicle and physically assaulted the victim as he lay on the ground. A bystander attempted to intervene in the incident to stop the attack but was also then assaulted by the accused, who subsequently fled.

Both victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP located the suspect hours later and arrested her.

A 29-year-old Dauphin female faces 10 charges, including:

  • Attempted murder;
  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Assault x2;
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm x2;
  • Uttering threats;
  • Failure to stop after accident resulting in bodily harm; and
  • Failing to comply with an undertaking x2.

The suspect remains in custody.
