On April 15, 206, at 3:27 pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a gas and dash at a business on Progress Way in Warren. Again at 6:49 pm, RCMP received information that the same vehicle had attended the same business and stole more gas.

Police also learned that the suspect vehicle was reported stolen from Winnipeg and that the same vehicle was seen stealing fuel from a business on Main Street in Selkirk earlier that day.

Officers attended the business in Warren and were informed the stolen vehicle was now parked at the South Interlake Rec Centre.

At 6:55 pm, officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver without incident.

The suspect, Colin Groves, a 39-year-old male from Selkirk, was charged and remanded in custody for:

  • possession of property obtained by crime;
  • theft under $5,000 x 2;
  • fail to comply with a release order x 3.

Stonewall RCMP continue to investigate.
