A 37-year-old man from York, Prince Edward Island, has died following a single off-road vehicle crash in South Tetagouche, N.B.
On January 14, 2025, at approximately 1:40 a.m., members of the Chaleur Region RCMP detachment responded to a report of a single off-road vehicle crash involving a snowmobile on Woodland Trail, in South Tetagouche, N.B.
The crash is believed to have occurred when the snowmobile failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into trees.
The driver and sole occupant of the snowmobile died at the scene as a result of his injuries. He was the same individual that was reported missing to police in the Balmoral Parish area on January 13, 2025. Police would like to thank the public for assisting with the search.
Members of Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene. A Forensic Collision Analysis Team and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office are assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man's exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
