A 68-year-old man from Hillsborough has died following a single snowmobile crash in Caledonia Mountain, N.B.
On January 25, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Caledonia Region RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a snowmobile crash involving a single off-road vehicle in Caledonia Mountain, N.B.
The crash is believed to have occurred when the snowmobile veered off the trail and collided with a tree. The driver, the sole occupant of the snowmobile, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Alma, and Riverside Albert Fire Departments attended the scene. A Forensic Collision Analysis Team and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office are assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man's exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
