RCMP investigate shooting incident

The Minto RCMP is investigating a shooting incident in Sunnyside Beach, N.B.

On March 1, 2025, at approximately 12:25 a.m., shots were fired at a residence on Route 690 in Sunnyside Beach, New Brunswick.  The resident was home at the time of the incident and witnessed a white, newer style SUV driving away northbound on Route 690. The resident fled his home and was not injured during the event.

The incident was reported to police by the resident at 11:29 a.m. later that same morning. Police are now investigating this is an isolated incident. The incident did not meet the criteria for an Alert Ready.

"The RCMP is committed to ensuring the safety of everyone in the communities we serve," says Cpl. Matt Traer with the Minto detachment. "If you have any information regarding this incident, please come forward."

Anyone who has video footage, witnessed the shooting, or has information that could help further the investigation is asked to call the Minto RCMP at 506-327-1820. Police remain in the area as part of the ongoing investigation.
