RCMP and ground search and rescue partners locate missing woman

Members of the West District RCMP, partner agencies, and a number of ground search and rescue teams from across the province have safely located a missing 78-year-old woman from Lincoln, N.B.
On April 15, 2025, at approximately 11:04 p.m., members of the McAdam RCMP Detachment were dispatched to a request to locate. Upon arrival, police learned that a 78-year-old woman was last seen around noon in Harvey Station. Police and her family were concerned for her wellbeing. Police launched an immediate investigation, and a short time later, police, with the assistance of the McAdam Fire Department, located the woman’s vehicle abandoned in the Modsley Lake area.
Police were supported by a number of resources to help search for the woman, including the McAdam Fire Department, RCMP's Police Dog Services, Charlotte County GSAR, York-Sunbury GSAR, Carleton GSAR, Greater Fundy GSAR, Miramichi GSAR, Tri-County GSAR, New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety, New Brunswick Conservation Enforcement and their K9, New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and their K9, and Ambulance New Brunswick.
On April 16, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the 78-year-old woman was located safe by a GSAR search team.
"The search and rescue efforts involved in locating this missing woman have been truly remarkable thanks to the tremendous support and swift response from all partner agencies involved, " said Sgt. Scott Mackenzie. "The combined dedication and coordination of law enforcement, first responders, and volunteer groups has been essential in this operation and in getting this woman home safely."
