On May 30, 2025, RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation (JFO) West searched a residence in Stephenville, and seized a quality of hydromorphone, cash and pills. A 71-year-old man was arrested.
As part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP-RNC JFO West attended a home in Stephenville on Friday with a warrant to search the property, authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Inside the home, officers located and seized:
- Hydromorphone pills
- A quantity of other pills
- Cash
- Other items consistent with drug trafficking
A 71-year-old man arrested and released from custody. He is set to appear in court at a later date on charges of trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking
The investigation is continuing with further charges possible.
JFO West, which includes dedicated police officers from both the RCMP and RNC, targets drug trafficking and organized crime on the west coast of the province.
