A 24-year-old man was ticketed by Burin Peninsula RCMP for excessive speeding yesterday. An officer on patrol observed the vehicle going more than twice the posted speed limit.
Just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, police observed a vehicle travelling in excess of 180 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone on Route 210 north of Monkstown. A traffic stop was conducted; the driver was ticketed for excessive speeding and his license was suspended.
RCMP NL is reminding motorists to drive safely, within the posted speed limit and with a seat belt properly fastened. We thank the public for continuing to report incidents of excessive speed, dangerous driving and impaired driving.
