Deer Lake RCMP is looking for witnesses and seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating the vehicle involved in a hit and run collision in Deer Lake a short time ago.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on August 6, 2025, Deer Lake RCMP responded to a hit and run collision involving a cyclist at the interchange of Route 430 and the Trans-Canada Highway. Investigators believe the hit and run collision occurred approximately sometime between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The vehicle involved did not stop, and fled from the scene westbound on Highway 1. It was described to police as a white passenger car.
The pedestrian has been transported to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening in nature.
