Nain RCMP investigating fatal ATV crash

Nain RCMP is investigating an off-road vehicle crash that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman on August 2, 2025.

At approximately 09:00 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash at a local playground. The operator — an 18-year-old female — was found trapped under the ATV, and was freed by emergency responders. She was transported to the Nain Community Clinic, where she was pronounced deceased.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged.  The investigation is continuing.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador extends its deepest sympathies to the friends and family of the deceased.
