Springdale man charged with intimate partner violence related offences

Following a report a residential disturbance on August 5, 2025, at a home in Grand Falls-Windsor, 23-year-old Brady James Penney of Springdale, was arrested. He is charged with a number of criminal offences related to intimate partner violence.
On Tuesday afternoon, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP received the report of an assault and attended the home where a woman was located with injuries. Penney, who had departed the home prior to police arrival, was located a short distance away and was arrested without further incident.
Penney was held in custody overnight, appeared in court on August 6, 2025, and was released on conditions. He is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Assault – two counts
- Uttering threats – two counts

If grounds exist, a criminal charge will be laid in all instances of intimate partner violence.
