House fire in Nain claims lives of two individuals

Labrador District RCMP and the Newfoundland and Labrador Fire Commissioner’s Office are investigating a residential fire in Nain that claimed the lives of a 66-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on November 27, 2025, Nain RCMP responded to a fire at a residence on Middle Path Road. Firefighters with the Nain Fire Department attended the scene to battle the blaze.
Two individuals were discovered deceased inside the home.
Police have secured the scene, pending the arrival of a Fire Scene Investigator from the provincial Fire Commissioner’s Office. Officers with RCMP Labrador District General Investigation Section (GIS) have travelled to Nain to support the investigation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has also been engaged.
RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador thanks responders from Nain Volunteer Fire Department and NL Emergency Health Services for their assistance.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the fire, and anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage from the area on November 27, 2025, to contact Nain RCMP at 709-772-5400.
