On December 4, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m., an officer with the Placentia RCMP attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a speeding vehicle on Route 100. The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued towards Placentia.
Police located the vehicle and driver a short distance away, after a single-vehicle crash into a playground. The vehicle hit a power pole causing extensive damage and multiple downed power lines. The crash also prompted the closure of Route 100 between Jerseyside and Freshwater.

She is expected to appear in court at a later date to face a Criminal Code charge of flight from police.
The investigation is continuing.
