Woman arrested for theft by Deer Lake RCMP

RCMP in Deer Lake arrested a 38-year-old woman on Thursday evening after a theft from a gas station convenience store in the town. The woman now faces charges of theft and breach of her conditions.
At approximately 6:37 p.m. on January 1, 2026, Deer Lake RCMP responded to a theft from a convenience store on Upper Nicholsville Road. A store employee reported that a woman known to staff had left the store with unpaid merchandise.
Police located the suspect, a 38-year-old Deer Lake woman, walking along Chapel Hill Road a short time later and she was taken into custody. She is expected to appear in provincial court on February 10, 2026, to answer to Criminal Code charges of theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with a Probation Order.
The investigation is ongoing.
