Forteau RCMP responds to structure fire in L’Anse Au Clair

Forteau RCMP responded to a fire that caused extensive damage to an unoccupied residence in L’Anse Au Clair late Wednesday evening. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

At approximately 10:51 p.m. January 21, Forteau RCMP responded to a report of a fire at a vacant residence on Ocean View Drive. The L’Anse Au Clair Fire Department extinguished the fire, and no injuries were reported, though the damage to the home was extensive.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Fire Commissioner’s Office was engaged and consulted. The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing at this time.

Anyone with surveillance or dash camera footage recorded during the evening hours Wednesday in the area of Harbour Drive, L’Anse Au Clair, or anyone with information about this fire is asked to contact Forteau RCMP at 709-931-2790.
