Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP is investigating a collision involving a pedestrian on Wednesday evening in Botwood. The pedestrian sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, and police are looking to speak with witnesses and obtain any video footage of the incident.
At approximately 9:41 p.m. on January 28, 2026, police responded to a report of a collision on Circular Road in Botwood. A pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and was transported by NL Health Services emergency medical services personnel to the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre for medical treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the police investigation. Weather and road conditions were poor at the time of the incident, with reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP is asking any witnesses, or anyone with video surveillance or dash camera footage of the incident to contact the local detachment at 709-489-2121 as soon as possible.
The investigation is continuing.
