New-Wes-Valley RCMP seize uninsured vehicle from unlicensed driver

A 32-year-old man had his vehicle impounded by New-Wes-Valley RCMP after a traffic stop on Monday afternoon. 

Just before 1:00 p.m. on February 23, 2026, a New-Wes-Valley RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop Route 320 in Valleyfield. The male driver could not provide a valid driver’s licence, and the vehicle was not insured. 

He was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act, and the vehicle he was operating was seized by police and impounded. 

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador reminds all drivers that you are required to have valid legal documentation, including your license, registration and insurance, on your person when operating a motor vehicle. Anyone found operating a motor vehicle on Newfoundland and Labrador roadways without the proper legal documentation, licensing and registration will be penalized and face legal consequences.
