RCMP Traffic Services West seizes uninsured vehicle

A 45-year-old man had his vehicle impounded by RCMP Traffic Services West after a traffic stop on Wednesday.

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on February 25, 2026, a RCMP Traffic Services West officer observed a vehicle speeding and driving erratically. A traffic stop was conducted on Farm Road, and the driver was unable to provide proper insurance for the vehicle.

A 45-year-old man was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without insurance and driving without due care and attention. The vehicle he was operating was seized by police and impounded.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador reminds all drivers that you are required to have valid legal documentation, including your license, registration and insurance, on your person when operating a motor vehicle. Anyone found operating a motor vehicle on Newfoundland and Labrador roadways without the proper legal documentation, licensing and registration will be penalized and face legal consequences.
