Clarenville-Bonavista District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance locating the person or people responsible for the theft of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from a seasonal property in Charleston.

On March 2, police received a call from a concerned resident reporting a possible break in at an unoccupied seasonal residence on Branch Road in Charleston. Officers arrived and confirmed that two sheds on the property had been forced open, and a green, two-door Arctic Cat side-by-side style ATV had been taken.

It is believed that the break, enter and theft occurred overnight between Sunday, March 1 and Monday, March 2.

The same day, an officer responded to a call about a similar vehicle abandoned on a trail near Seal Pond Road in Amherst Cove. The stolen side-by-side was located and recovered by police.

Clarenville-Bonavista District RCMP is asking anyone with information about this theft, including witnesses who saw the stolen ATV between March 1 and March 2, or information about the person(s) responsible to contact them at 709-466-3211 or 709-468-7333.

To share information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), visiting nlcrimestoppers.com or using the P3Tips app.
