Bay St. George RCMP is investigating damage caused at a Stephenville retail store early Sunday morning and asking anyone with information or video surveillance footage to contact police.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on March 8, Bay St. George RCMP were called to Byrnes' Shoes & Sportswear on Main Street in Stephenville, after a witness reported someone outside was breaking the storefront windows causing extensive damage.
The suspect was wearing dark coloured clothes, a hat and a face mask.
Bay St. George RCMP is looking for potential witnesses or anyone with information about this crime. In particular, police are asking businesses and residents in the area with security cameras, or anyone driving nearby with dashboard cameras to review their footage from midnight (12:00 a.m.) until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8 and to report any suspicious activity to the detachment at 709-643-2118.
