Holyrood RCMP arrested 35-year-old Alexander Dunphy-Taylor on Monday morning after he was stopped by police for operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and violating the conditions of his release order.
At about 1:46 a.m. on March 23, 2026, a Holyrood RCMP officer on patrol observed a vehicle pulled to the shoulder of the Trans-Canada Highway between Salmonier Line and Holyrood Access. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Alexander Michael Dunphy-Taylor, 35, whose court-ordered release conditions prohibit him from operating a motor vehicle.
Drug paraphernalia and weapons were observed inside the vehicle and Dunphy-Taylor was taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts,
- Failure to comply with a release order – three counts,
Dunphy-Taylor was also ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act for operating a vehicle without an insurance policy and driving or having care and control of a vehicle with cannabis in the vehicle, not in its original unopened packaging.
He appeared in court on March 23 and was remanded into custody. His next appearance is scheduled for March 27.
