Happy Valley-Goose Bay responds to report of unwanted person, charges woman for assaulting officers

A 29-year-old woman was arrested by Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP yesterday evening after resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

Just after 8:00 p.m. on July 15, Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP responded to a report of a woman making threats at a local residence. Police located the woman nearby, and she refused to comply with officer demands and physically assaulted officers during the interaction.

The 29-year-old woman was arrested and transported to the RCMP detachment, and is expected to appear in court today. She has been charged with: 

• Assault on a police officer (three counts), and 
• Resist or obstruct a police officer.
