Police in Grand Falls-Windsor arrested 27-year-old Cody Torraville Tuesday night after he fled from police during an ongoing investigation.

On Monday, August 10, a Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP officer conducting proactive patrols observed a vehicle being operated by a man known to be the subject of active arrest warrants. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to comply and fled from police.

Officers continued patrols for the vehicle and driver, and located both outside a residence in Grand Falls-Windsor on Tuesday evening around 5:00 p.m. When officers attempted to arrest the man, an altercation ensued, and he fled the scene in a dangerous manner.

Police located 27-year-old Cody Torraville in Bishop’s Falls a short time later, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

In addition to his previous charges, Torraville is facing new charges of:

  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Failure to comply with a probation order
  • Operation while prohibited

Torraville is expected to appear in provincial court today (August 12).

The investigation continues with additional charges possible.
