Police seeking information on sexual assault in Cole Harbour

Police are seeking information in relation to a sexual assault that occurred in Cole Harbour.

On June 19, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred on June 17 at approximately 9 p.m. on a trail between Poplar Dr. and Cranberry Cres. in Cole Harbour. Officers learned that a 44-year-old woman was walking on the trail when she was approached from behind assaulted and then sexually assaulted.

The victim, who fought off her attacker, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a man, 6-foot-0, approximately 230 pounds and has brown eyes. At the time of the incident, he had a goatee and was wearing a black hoodie with a white logo and a black ball cap.

The investigation, led by the Special Victims Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, is ongoing.
