Antigonish County District RCMP investigates serious collision on Highway 7

Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating a serious collision that occurred in Lochaber.

On June 28 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Antigonish County District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Hwy. 7 north of Lochaber. Officers learned that a Nissan Rogue and a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided on the roadway.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old Mount Uniacke woman, had serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS. The driver and only occupant of the SUV, an 82-year-old Antigonish man, also reported injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 7 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
