RCMP charges man with Mischief Causing Danger to Life

Lunenburg District RCMP has charged a man in relation to an incident that occurred in Union Square.

On July 13, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of a tractor ramming into an occupied home in the 4300 block of Cornwall Rd. Upon arrival, officers observed a man actively destroying the residence with a large farm vehicle.

The person inside the residence at the time is known to the man. They did not report any physical injuries.

Sheldon Rex MacKay, 55, from New Germany, was safely arrested at the scene. He’s been charged with:

  • Mischief Causing Danger to Life
  • Mischief
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking

MacKay was remanded into custody, appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 14, and was released on conditions.
