RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Lower Sackville.

On October 1, at approximately 7:36 p.m., RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Freer Lane.  Officers learned a Mitsubishi RVR was travelling towards the Cobequid Community Health Centre when the vehicle went off the road and into the ditch.

The driver and lone occupant, a 57-year-old man from Upper Sackville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash and Freer Lane was closed for several hours.  It has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this difficult time.

Anyone with information or dashcam video of the crash is asked to contact the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment at 902-490-5050. To remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or use the P3 Tips app.
