West Hants RCMP is investigating hate-motivated graffiti located on a building that houses a social services agency.

On October 24, West Hants RCMP responded to a report of graffiti observed on the door to a social services agency on Foundry Rd. Officers learned that someone had scratched racist graffiti into the paint on the door.

The graffiti was painted over as soon as possible by West Hants Regional Municipality staff. It does not appear that there was further damage to the door.

Investigators believe that the incident, which took place between October 22 and October 24, was motivated by hate.

The RCMP takes incidents of hate with utmost seriousness and condemns these criminal acts. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information that will support this investigation is asked to contact West Hants RCMP at 902-798-2207. To remain anonymous, contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips app.
