RCMP North East Traffic Services is investigating a fatal collision that occurred near Millville.

At approximately 7:20 a.m. on December 3, RCMP officers, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 105. Investigators learned that an eastbound Chrysler 200 and a westbound Peterbilt 367 transport truck collided on the roadway.

The driver and sole occupant of the Chrysler, a 31-year-old man from New Waterford, was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The occupants of the Peterbilt – a 42-year-old driver from New Waterford and a 20-year-old passenger from Sydney – were not physically injured.

Hwy. 105 was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones during this difficult time.
