Colchester County District RCMP charges man with firearms offences in apparent road rage incident

Colchester County District RCMP has charged a man with firearms offences after he pointed an imitation firearm, later determined to be a BB gun, at a motorist.
On December 20, at approximately 5:50 p.m., RCMP officers received a report that a man was driving on Park St. in Bible Hill when a man in another vehicle pointed a gun at him out the front passenger window. The suspect vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf GTI, then fled toward Truro.
Officers attended the area and notified Truro Police Service of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was not immediately located.
Officers learned that just before the firearm incident, the Golf GTI had cut in front of the victim’s vehicle while the two were travelling along Park St. One of the passengers with the victim then began taking a video of the suspect vehicle and captured the firearm incident, which helped to identify the suspect.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP located the Golf GTI at a residence on Ryland Ave. in Bible Hill. Officers safely arrested a man and a woman, and seized a BB gun, which closely resembled a Glock 19. The woman was released without charges.
Braydon McNeil, 22, of Bible Hill, has been charged with Using an Imitation Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Failure to Comply with Order.
McNeil appeared in Truro Provincial Court on December 22 and was released on conditions.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Colchester County District RCMP, with assistance of Sipekne’katik RCMP Detachment.
